This sweeping desk was designed by our client who is a product designer. This office
space is located in a loft with a view to the south, towards the ocean through tall
windows. The cabinetry and desk top is stained MDF which blended with the industrial
decore of this loft space. Stained MDF is relatively new and quite an attractive look.
There are some manufacturers of MDF that are beginning to offer a dyed MDF. This
product is dyed through the core eliminating the need for staining.

The check-out/display counter at the right is located in a Westlake Village boutique
named Stil. Designed for contemporary lines and styling, this cabinet was fabricated
using mahogany veneers and solids. The cabinet features two lighted display areas
and a full workstation behind a curved check-out surface.

This desk was designed and built for a producer’s home office. Using oak wood
and veneers, it was finished with a semi-transparent ebonized stain and top coat.
Designed with a balance of form and function, the piece incorporated elements
of Frank Lloyd Wright and Rennie Macintosh inspired features. The square cut-outs
were backed with restoration glass. Storage features included file drawers, computer
storage, keyboard pull-out and monitor stand.

Technology. Two custom designs to fit two different campuses, each features a
lecture podium with a drop-down shelf for a flat panel computer monitor and
pull-out keyboard shelf. The furniture is on wheels for easy mobility.
