The Process
The following outlines the process for having
Doopoco Enterprises design and build your custom
cabinetry or furniture.
Getting Started
The process begins with you contacting us.
You probably have some ideas for the cabinetry
that you would like to have designed and built.
At this time we will request that you provide
us with a description of the work that you
are interested in having done. The information
you provide may include some of the following:
• Location of your residence or business where
the project will be
• Nature of the project
• Budget
• Time line
• Materials you would like to use
• Colors
• An idea of the style you would like
to see on your piece
We may set up a
meeting at the location of the project or in the interest of being energy efficient in these times of high fuel prices, we may request that you provide
us with digital photographs and measurements of the area in which
your project will be located.
Our service area
for delivery and installation of our cabinets
is limited to Ventura county and parts of Los
Angeles county in Southern California. For
more information regarding our service area,
please give us a call. For clients who are located out
of our service area, we offer the following:
• Design services for
larger projects over the internet.
• We can also
design and create custom furniture pieces and
cabinets that can be white glove shipped to your location.
If you are interested
in our over the internet design services please
drop us an email or
give us a call toll-free
at 866-514-7776.
Site Meeting
The objective of the site meeting is for us
to take our collective ideas and create an
initial design for the piece. This initial
design will have enough information for Doopoco
Enterprises to proceed with giving you a 'ballpark'
estimate.
What to bring:
• Pictures from magazines that reflect some
of the design elements that you would like.
• Equipment list for AV equipment, appliances,
office equipment.
• Samples for colors and other materials that
will be in the same room; carpet, tile, other
wood elements etc.
What we'll do:
• Look at the area where the cabinetry will
be installed.
• Take measurements of that area.
We will discuss the design using the information
that you provide. We may make some simple sketches
there at the meeting to confirm the elements
of the design as this process moves forward.
Once you are comfortable that your ideas are
reflected in this initial design, we will have
the information necessary to complete the next
step of providing you with a 'ballpark' estimate.
The Next Step
The purpose of the 'ballpark' estimate is
to see if the proposed initial design fits
your budget concerns. Once you are comfortable
with the estimate, we can proceed to the next
steps of:
1) Refining the design
2) Providing you with drawings
3) Providing you a firm price for the project
To begin this process, Doopoco Enterprises
requires a retainer/design fee.
The amount of this fee will be determined
based on:
1) The scope of the project
2) The estimated time to complete the design
and associated drawings.
Having completed drawings for the project
gives us the information that we need to provide
you with a firm price for the fabrication.
Paying this retainer also guarantees your project
the next available place in our schedule which
is 'first come first served' based upon the retainers
that have been received. The amount of the
retainer/design fee will be deducted from
the total cost of the project. In most cases
this fee is non- refundable. If for any reason
construction does not commence, this fee might
be forfeited.
Once the design is finalized and the drawings
approved, we will enter into a contract to
complete the project. The contract will outline
the scope of the project, the time line, the
terms for payment and the rights and responsibilities
of the client and Doopoco Enterprises.
The amount of payments will be determined
based on the scope and time line for the project.
Typically a deposit of 40% to 50%, one or two
progress draws (depending on the time line)
and then a final payment at the time of installation
makes up the payment schedule. All payments
are due upon receipt. We cannot offer terms.
For your convenience we accept Master Card,
Visa and personal or business checks.
